It could not open all the way, as if something was in the way. Then it makes a long beep and reverts to closing it. After that open/close cycle, the power button would not respond for a while.Interior tailgate trim removal assistance. My local dealership provided a print out of TSB 09-044 (with all of the pics). With trim panel removal tools, I was able to remove the lower panel. I removed the tailgate assembly switch (green) connector. On my new Pilot (3 weeks) the black rubber cover that sits on top of the back bumper has a spot where it is warped just enough so that you can't open the tailgate without having to push down on the warped spot with your other hand. Then the tailgate opens fine. Obviously, this is a warranty issue.
