Guys, my cousin called me today and told me he bought a parts truck [1995 cummins motor and 5 speed tranny] because he needed to take its dash and rear end out of it.The two overall best engine options for good power output while maintaining the vehicles overall balance are either the 4.0L V6, or the 2.3L turbo. The 2.3L turbo makes most V8 swaps look like underpowered jokes. If you do a V8 swap, the 302 is the best option, but you need the 302 trans as well. It doesn't fit really well, but it does work.One guy has a 3.0 motor from a 92 ranger and is asking $100 for it. Just trying to chart all my 3.0 options. I would like to do the 5.0 swap, but the ranger has some body damage and I just want to get it running for a winter beater.
