Infection notice is just the regular wound infection you can get if the wound is not treated appropriately. Once started the zombification progresses on its own, and it is quite often a scratch that got you zombified if fully healed before you start feeling the symptoms. To answer your question, if a wound says "infected" it means a standard mundane wound infection. Don't fret though, this isn't NEO Scavenger or real life.
