My Ride. i had a yz 85 that was cutting out like it was bainging off the rev. limiter. compression seemed ok on a test. i chased it for 3 weeks, reeds, stator, coil, carb everything i could think of. ended up doing a topend just for giggles and it went away.For 4-st it’s fairly linear with rpm, more rpm, more advance. 2-st are not. If you look at most 2-st timing curves they start out advanced and then it’s reduced at higher rpm. Small changes at high rpm can make differences is power.
