Firstly Lament has a very poor time tracking on to the enemy. Often swings just go through or past the enemy, catapulting you out of range. This in itself makes it very hard to use. But more importantly, the whole damage calculation is bugged. Even if you hit the enemy and the damage numbers pop up, it deals less damage than shown.

Lament combo is incredibly strong, usually healing you out of the incoming damage and boss stomps. You can tank both bosses with it. You can air combo the Rm80 shank relatively safely with it, etc. the sword is still so good.
