With Fidium for me, it's fiber up to our house and they had to drill into the garage to bring their ONT inside (not sure why they don't have outdoor ONTs), and the house was pre-wired with a cat5e cable from that point to our closet. NETGEAR routers are only the router part, and you still need modem that is capable of operating 2Gbps speed. Usually the cable modem or gateway equipment is provided by the service provider and you cannot buy it from the retail marekt.The ONT and router fortunately are both operational; my best guess is that they ended up reprovisioning the 10G port on the ONT so that it would pass data.
