Fortunately, there are plenty of great locations to build a base across the Exiled Lands, ranging from Isolated Island to The Great Dam. This guide will detail all the best locations to build a large base in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery, giving you several options to choose from. As you're a new player, your main base should be in an area that will experience level 1 or 2 purges, for now. That means the south desert and the river east to the jungle. You can always build a bigger one later, after you have some experience and materials stored up. I think priority one should be to be near an obelisk.

Straight East of this spot, below and on the east side of the giant king structure leading south from Chaosmouth is plateau with a great view, if you build here you have to keep a certain distance from the structure since it's plot related but it's a really nice spot though it has somewhat limited space. :)
