Heads are 3998991's This seems to be a low compression smogger type motor. Other than the cam lobe all the other items including pitons are in very good shape. The #3970010 casting block is the most common four-inch bore block ever made. It comes from a 350 and likely has a forged steel crank, but the heads are terrible for performance improvements. The design uses 1.72-inch intake valves, measuring out to around 8.2:1 when appropriately installed. The block is a 3970010 350 and I will go from there. When i dissassembled the engine I found that the engine had been rebuild already with very low miles on it. The inside is a clean as if I just built it, there is NO top edge on the cylinders and the bearings look great. The pistons look like new except for the carbon on top and are stamped .040.
